  66. Racing in the Wind (Sailing) is an arcade game, strategy game,
  67. educational game and simulation all rolled into one. 
  68.  
  69. RITWs has 2 modes - arcade and racing. Arcade mode, you maximize your 
  70. score by playing as many levels as possible. You gain points 
  71. by picking up different types of flotsam while avoiding dangers such 
  72. as various types of mines, hitting a buoy, going outside the course 
  73. limits, taking too long to get round the course and setting your 
  74. spinnaker when not running downwind.  All these result in the loss of a 
  75. boat, and a restart at the next level. Run out of boats, and
  76. the game is over. You can earn an extra boat, up to a maximum of 6, 
  77. every time you clock up another 100000 points. Points are also added 
  78. at the end of each race for speed. So picking up the same amount of 
  79. flotsam in a quicker time will gain you more points.

  81. The registered version of RITWs has 70 levels in all.

  83. In racing mode, the aim is simply to get around the course in the 
  84. shortest possible time. The 3 best times are kept for each of 70 
  85. courses.  The courses correspond to the levels in arcade mode, but 
  86. there is no flotsam or mines.

  88. RITWs can be played at 3 levels of difficulty. With 'easy', has just a 
  89. boom to control, besides setting the boat's course. The wind maintains 
  90. a steady direction and strength. 'Medium' adds a jib sail control and 
  91. random wind direction shifts. Finally, 'hard' adds a spinnaker control 
  92. and random gusts to the wind strength.
